m - Today, we went on an adventure, let me tell ya. The birds and the bees were out and we were playing with trees. We got inspired by the Missoni line and the way they play with textures and new colors. We met up with our beautifully talented friend Sarah for a spur of the moment photo shoot with the thirty spare minutes we had in our responsibility-filled days.  We decided to play with different eccentric fall colors and textures.

We love the western patterns crossed with warm fall colors.  Sarah paired a thick leather satchel and heavy gold necklace with this just light enough western sweater purchased at Forever 21.

These short lace up boots are a perfect way to step into fall. Lets bring this vintage olive color back into the mix. Throw some of that olive with a nice black and brown combo and you'll be good to go.

Maroon, Teal, Olive, and Orange. Something for everybody. It's time to bring some color with us to get keep us warm during winter. This color palette is definitely something we will be seeing more of in the near future.  On the right, I am wearing Steve Madden boots, Forever 21 colored pants, and Sarah's cardigan she found at TJ Maxx!  I am currently obsessed with colored pants this fall and trying to collect as many as I can.

These Steve Madden boots are a great way to bring in some rustic texture to keep the fall feel.

Accessories. We can stress all day and all night how important accessories are to an outfit. There is no better way to personalize than to add something unique. Accessories have a life of their own. The satchel to your left was a fantastic find from Paris. The fedora worn by the beautiful Sarah was purchased at Forever 21.  These two necklaces are vintage pieces from Sarah's mother. Every accessory has a story to tell-if not now, it will one day soon. So don't let us beat this horse to death, well, we probably will anyway, WEAR YOUR ACCESSORIES!

So. Start shopping around. Find those awesome colors hidden in the past and bring a pop of color to your wardrobe. Most importantly, have some fun with it.

Because we're obsessed.

In honor of fall, we decided to do a blog post on the correct ways to wear white after Labor Day! Ditching the lightweight white and mixing it with fall colors is the perfect way to showcase your own personal fashion sense.

European Fashion: September in Spain.

Posted on 19:52 by kumar

m- The ancient city of Granada, Spain. Granada (Spanish for pomegranate) is a fantasy of a city nestled into the bottom of the great Spanish Sierra Nevada mountains just an hour from the Mediterranean coast. Home to the Moorish citadel of the Alhambra, and the mystical flamenco performances put on by gypsies in the caves of the Nevadas, this city is truly one of a kind. There is nothing more inspiring to my fashion senses than traveling. And whats more inspiring than an ancient Moorish village?

The Ancient city of Alhambra. "Don't call my name, don't call my name...Alhambra." -Micaela

This rustic door on the cobblestone streets of a wealthy village just outside of Granada was home to fantastic views of the city and the Sierra Nevadas. Naturally, I tried to dress to the mood of the atmosphere of the day. Neutral tones respected the city's cracks and history. This shirt from the Zara in the city caught my eye because of the wooden toggles and navy hounds tooth on the collar. Perfectly fitted and full of texture, this shirt was an awesome find. Topman denim boots and H&M shorts finished off this look, perfect for a walk through thousands of years of history.

My favorite part of Granada, was to no surprise, the shopping. Middle Eastern street vendors lined the streets, filling the air with life. Handmade textiles, leather sandals, and silver rings were on display as far as the eye could see. Every vendor ready to make a sale. This handmade leather bag was my adventure of the day. I took it way back to the days of bartering and managed to talk down this bag from 70 euro to just 40! Bad for them, good for you.

We know that it's September and its about time to pull out the fall wardrobe. However, if you're somewhere like Southern Spain or back at home in Wilmington, North Carolina....its still hot. We decided to celebrate fall by bringing a fall color pallet but keeping cool in shorts. (Topman) White short-sleeved oxford by American Apparel. Camel belt by Topman Paris.

Hasta luego Granada.

Edge of Urge: Local Street Style

Posted on 08:00 by kumar
m- Edge of Urge. Over the past four years, I’ve been fortunate enough to watch how this local gem has transformed from a cozy and hip boutique only known by locals, to something accrediting national recognition- all while keeping it’s small town character exclusive to eccentric Wilmington, North Carolina.

I have always loved treating myself to stops at edge. The atmosphere is fantastic. Its so...now. There really are some fantastic pieces that you cant get a hold of anywhere closer than DC or Atlanta, so you know you’re going to always find something unique. My purchases of the day: tanks.

Keeping the 90's theme rolling, I found this awesome tank that I really cant get enough of. This heavy cotton tank is stripped with an awesome 90's color theme of teal, gray, brown and blue and is cut just the way you never knew you wanted it. Our favorite part of the shirt is the patch of denim visible only when unbuttoned. I'm always down for surprises!

Cut up some old Levis that you haven’t worn in years, roll them up, and you’ve got a new pair of denim shorts. Pair them with a tank like this and some vintage high-top sneaks and you are good to go.

This cool necklace from Forever 21 keep in the 90's color palette. These faux ivory fangs look like they’ve been dipped in a 90's roller rink birthday room.
Bailey’s sunglasses are also a new purchase from Edge of Urge for just twelve bucks! Cat-eye sunglasses are key.

We love edge. Thank you edge for giving us hope for fashion in the south. With this store, there is no doubt that we are on our way.

Because we're obsessed.
