Fall Outfit of the Day

Posted on 08:02 by kumar
Texture on texture. I'm loving this look recently and it is a creative way to mix and match patterns and textures but at the same time bringing them together.  The rolled up cuffs of my blazer contrast the pattern in my scarf but are brought together through colors. Scarfs are a fabulous way of adding'zest' to an outfit while also channeling your inner diva. It's hard not to feel spiffy with a scarf tied in a bow around your neck...

Tights have also been staple pieces you can find almost anywhere now! I love adding colored or patterned tights to most of my outfits to add more personality. Might I mention everything I am wearing (minus my combat boots which were purchased at Bakers) is from consignment! It is so easy to look and feel great for such a reasonable price.

This bag was such a great find! I found it at a consignment shop (with a brand new genuine leather tag for just $20!) How could I resist? It's a great way of carrying your school books but breaking away from the classic North Face bags which seem to flood campus.

Try it! Mix some patterns and textures. Why not?!

m- Never will I pass up enjoying a beautiful day. With much much on the day's agenda to accomplish, I decided that nothing was as important as carpe-ing this diem. So, with hours to spare before our photo shoot with Jess James, Madeline and I hit the neighborhood to soak in some winter rays and enjoy the beautiful homes that line the streets of downtown Wilmington. We were certain to dress comfortably because pure enjoyment of this beautiful day was top priority.

This stripped vintage Tommy Hilfiger button up was a steal for three bucks.
The dark denim collar and cuff detail is my favorite part for sure. LOVE vintage shirts for men. I paired this shirt with brown Levi chords from Urban Outfitters and black Doc Martens.

Always stunning. Even off duty. See Madeline's black velvet pants above. We love.
Also from Edge of Urge...these fun pink sunglasses!!!

If it's nice out, take a stroll.

Fall Fashion Trend: Little Black Vintage Dress

Posted on 07:22 by kumar
Fresh and Precious, Black Vintage Dress, Fall Fashion Trends, Second Time Around, Sequins
Quick post! PURCHASE OF THE WEEK: this dress.
The vintage experts at A Second Time Around were the latest caretakers of this beauty with exquisit beading and sequins. All on a knit, sleeved dress. Vintage is the way to go. Unfortunately there was a small hole in the back of the dress by unwanted moths and friends. But not to worry! Because the store owners are super cool, Bailey won this dress for ten dollars! There is nothing a little TLC can't do to a little moth hole. This dress will be ready to showcase in no time. This was a really cool find.

m- On such a crisp winter afternoon, I thought it could be fun to go on a little adventure and head out to the marshes of North Carolina's inter-coastal and snap some shots. Naturally Bailey and Dewey had to come along for the fun. Today's theme...duck huntin'.

Emma so nicely put together a combination of neutral patterns and textures.
A fashionista in her own right.
Dew the dew is sporting this Ralph Lauren khaki zip-up
I found at a consignment store for just five bucks!

Underneath all that knit that I found in an H&M in Barcelona,
Bailey is wearing a fun plaid button-up, appropriate to the outdoors feel.

Why does my little cousin have better shoes than me?
These awesome Michael Kors boots with the fur are totally killing it and I'm sure
Emma is stompin' through the halls of her elementary in them with ease.

Vintage Hound Sweater and Map Jacket from The Wondershop
This may be my favorite piece of clothing I own. I don't know what it was, but the second that I stepped into The Wondershop, I knew this hound had to come with. WHEW does it look good with this awesome vintage Ralph Lauren Oxford and chords. My duck boots couldn't be more appropriate for the occasion. I'm ready to hunt.

Dew the dew modeling! Dew threw on an emerald green knit sweater, also from Ralph Lauren, and it went perfectly with the red in Bay's shirt and the green in mine.
It's important to look good in the woods right?

Did I mention there were gun shots? Ducks were literally being hunted in the wild behind us during these photographs. All too appropriate.

boots, burqas, and bars.

Posted on 18:43 by kumar
Hannah's here! This blonde bombshell happens to be one of my friends from Raleigh. Hannah lives across the state, so it is a rare treat to get hang time! We decided to brave the rain storm and make a trip from North Raleigh to Michael's work down by NC State. The sun came out just as we pulled into the parking lot and impromptu photos were a must! On just a slow, rainy afternoon, the restaurant was slow. So, Michael took us on an adventure in the alley way next door.  Puddles were everywhere but it was fun.
Hannah is a lovely associate at Victoria's Secret, and therefore always has the cutest clothes, best bras, and great smelling perfumes and lotions from there. Her plaid shirt and v-neck are both from Victoria's Secret and her jeans are from PacSun.  I love how she paired her leather H&M jacket with a tan satchel from Aldo and boots.  I am wearing a gray Anne Klein sweater I found on consignment. Even though Michael isn't a fan, I love my green cargo pants I got last year from Forever 21. My best friend Carissa gave me this lovely bag from Aldo!! It was just what I needed.  It was a little cold outside and my infiniti scarf doubled effortlessly as a burqa!!
Michael is looking classy in his all black attire required for work.

because we're obsessed.
